Allevia Hospitals is celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori by supporting staff to build confidence using te reo Māori in everyday workplace interactions.
Across the week, staff are being invited to learn practical kupu (words) and phrases and take part in live online learning sessions delivered by education provider Cultureflow. Topics include tikanga Māori and karakia, greetings and farewells, and language for meetings and the workplace.
The programme is designed to make learning accessible for staff across our hospitals and for people at different stages of their reo journey.
By creating opportunities to learn and use te reo Māori, we are helping make the language more visible in our workplaces and supporting its place in everyday life in Aotearoa.
